Culver City CERT is run by volunteers. We are always looking for motivated Culver City CERT Members that are willing to help us out. Below are ways that you can help out Culver City CERT:
Community Service for Students, CERT Members and Scouts
At various times during the year CERT needs students, CERT Members and Scouts at least 10 1/2 years old to be "victims" for training. We use volunteer "victims" for the Final Drills three times a year on the last Saturday of training for our new CERT Members. We need volunteers from 1 to 4 PM on the day of the Final Drill.
We also use volunteer "victims" at one or two additional drills throughout the year.
Volunteers act as disaster victims for a simulated earthquake or similar disaster. Volunteers are asked to wear old clothes that can be stained and torn. Volunteers are moulaged and given instructions about how to act based on their injuries. Scouts and Students can receive Community Service hours for participating. Please bring your documentation paperwork and present it to the CERT Instructor coordinating "victims" to be signed. An extra set of clean clothes to wear home is also recommended.
