CERT Members Go Here For Drill Information

Culver City will be having it's annual City Wide Disaster Drill on Thursday, October 21st  at 7:00 PM. This is the same drill that Culver City has conducted previous years on December 7th. The date was changed to coincide with the state wide California Shake Out which is conducted each October.

Residents and businesses in Culver City are requested to display an "OK" sign in their front window or some other location visible from the street at 7:00 PM. The "OK" sign when used in an actual emergency would mean that your residence does not require assistance, letting emergency responders concentrate on other locations in the city where help is needed. Residents are also asked to practice their Family Disaster Plan during the drill.

Persons signed up on the Culver City Connect CTY Reverse 9-1-1 System will receive a notification about the drill on Monday, December 7th around 6:30 PM to remind them about the drill.

CERT Members, the Culver City Fire Department, and the Culver City Police Department will be walking and driving all of the streets in Culver City counting the number of "OK" signs. After the "OK" signs are counted, CERT Members will be participating in a night training drill to practice their skills.

"OK" signs can be downloaded HERE or on the City Website after the signs are updated by the Fire Department. You can also make your own "OK" sign to display during the drill. After the drill you should store your "OK" sign in a safe, accessible place in case it is needed in a real emergency.

For more information on the City Wide Drill and Emergency Preparedness, please visit the Culver City Fire Department on the Culver City Website.
